As I Sit There in Silence

As I sit there in silence waiting for something to happen As I sit there in silence hoping that something will change I hear the clock tick tock and the tap drip drop and the wood creek crock

As the night is still and I sit there just waiting. Waiting for something I don’t really know what. I sleep to shorten the wait. I eat to survive the wait. As I sit there in silence waiting for something to happen. One would say I am meditating on life. One would say I am depressed But honestly all I am doing is sitting there waiting for a change. Not much more thinking will give me an answer Not much more plotting will bring any change. The situations of life are honestly out of my hands. So I sit there in silence waiting for something to happen And sit there hoping something will change. How much excitement can one have when they have been waiting for so long? How much hope can one have when they have been patient for so long? But I fret not – emotionless; as I sit there waiting… Waiting for that change.
